Rive’ Jean (Hawkins) Rivers, 57, of Iowa Park, died Thursday, March 4, 2010.

The memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2010, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls with the Rev. Jim Strickland, pastor of the Texhoma Cowboy Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Rive’ was born November 8, 1952, in Altus, Oklahoma. On April 17, 2001, she married Douglas Rivers in Iowa Park. She worked for seventeen years as the classified manager of the Times Record News. She was an active member of the Texhoma Cowboy Church. She was preceded in death by her father Houston W. Hawkins and her brothers, Howard Hawkins and Murry Hawkins.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas Rivers of Iowa Park; mother, Norma Jean Bolinger of Wichita Falls; children, Stephanie Duke Johnston of Wichita Falls; Jenny Rivers of Cleburne and David Rivers of McAlester, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jenna Rive’ Johnston, Cara Jayne Johnston and William Johnston, all of Wichita Falls; Madison Rivers, Dane Rivers and Nathan Rivers, all of McAlester, Oklahoma; and her sisters, Kathy Gava of Houston and Renee Preston of Decatur.

For those desiring, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Texhoma Cowboy Church.
