Arlis D. Key Burkburnett, TX Died: March 02, 2010 Arlis D. Key of Burkburnett, Texas died March 2, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas. Arlis was born August 8, 1925 in May, Texas and was a lifelong resident of Burkburnett, having recently moved to Lubbock. Graveside services, with Joe Coombes officiating, will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 5th in the Burkburnett Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett. Arlis proudly served during WWII as a rifleman in Company A 289th Infantry of the U.S. Army and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a retired Civil Service employee from Sheppard Air Force Base. Arlis and Betty Ruth Wilson were married May 5, 1944 in Walters, OK. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bobby Thompson of Burkburnett, a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Glenda Key of Lubbock, a bother and sister-in-law, Byron and Edith Key of Burkburnett, and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Key of Camden, Arkansas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Key was preceded in death by his parents, Tom F. and Velma Key, sons Terry and Christopher, and brothers Fred, Austin, Hugh and Wayne. Family visitation will be Thursday evening 6:30-8:00 PM at Owens and Brumley in Burkburnett. Memorials may be made to the Burkburnett First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Betty & family I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Arlis he was a fine man and he will be missed by allot of people. He was my grandfathers best friend and pass boss thats the way I got to know him. I also cut his fathers grass several times when I was younger and they both were fine men. My grandfather has been gone from this area almost year now so I will pass Arlis death on to him. My grandfather is Mr T A Kramer You all are in my and familys daily prayers.
